TENAM GARAGE BANDS
We are pretty sure Tenam used to be a garage so we are forming small group "garage" bands of 2-5 people to jam and be directed by our multi-instrumentalist teacher, Erica Torgerson!
We are doing auditions for
- a band for 8-12 year olds meeting 12-1pm for 8 weeks on Saturdays beginning October 11th
- a band for 5-7 year olds meeting 1-2pm 8 weeks on Saturdays beginning October 11th

Meet your director!
Erica has performed with a variety of local rock and indie bands such as The Torgs and Too Legit in venues around San Diego like The Music Box, Winstons and Navajo Live. She loves playing the drums, guitar, bass, piano, ukulele, and is passionate about connecting with others through music. Erica loves transforming spaces through the vibrations music brings, and is excited about inspiring the next generation of performers.

Step into the limitless world of Experimental Music, where curiosity is your guide and there’s no single “right” way to create. In this class, you’ll explore a wide range of entry points into experimental sound-making—from guided improvisation and graphic scores to found sounds, extended techniques, and deep listening practices. We’ll trace the history of the genre through groundbreaking artists like Pauline Oliveros, John Cage, and Morton Feldman, whose innovative approaches continue to inspire musicians today. Together, we’ll play pieces in their style, try our hand at open-form compositions, and create collaborative works that invite new ways of hearing. Whether you’re a trained musician or brand new to music-making, this class offers a space to experiment, listen deeply, and discover music beyond the boundaries.
